How much does birth pool hire cost in NZ?

Our birth pool hire is $200 for a 4 or 5-week hire, plus a refundable $50 bond that comes back to you once the pool is returned. The full kit is included, with no hidden extras.

What's included in the birth pool hire kit?

Your hire includes the professional birth pool, a sterile single-use liner, an electric air pump, a submersible drainage pump, tap adaptors, a food-grade filling hose, two waterproof repair patches and a return postage sticker, plus The Nest sample pack, which is yours to keep. Everything arrives clean and ready to use.

We recommend booking a few weeks before your due date so your pool arrives in good time. Your hire period is timed to comfortably cover your due date.

What if I go past 42 weeks?

Just let us know — we'll work with you on a short extension where possible.

I cannot recommend Labour & Love enough! We hired a birth pool for our planned homebirth, and having it arrive early brought so much peace to the final weeks of pregnancy. As a first-time mum, having the pool sorted gave me incredible peace of mind—especially when a major storm hit and we risked being flooded in. It just made us feel so prepared.

Even though our circumstances changed on the day and we moved to a birth centre, I would hire from them again in a heartbeat just for the reassurance it gave us leading up to the birth.

Dalen was so helpful and wonderful to communicate with throughout the whole process. Labour & Love really do hold so much love and care, which was so appreciated, especially during that tender time straight after birth.
